Kwaku Gyimah Osako Asare is a 12 year old student of New Mission Academy, Kumasi.He has 3 supportive brothers and has always had the heart of a writer.


His hobbies include reading and writing stories and poems. His favourite singer is Kirk Franklin and his favourite songs are "Revolution", "123 Victory" and "Strong God".

He is also a fan of Liverpool FC.

Vicentia Adwoa Asabea a JHS 3 student of pentecost preparatory School, Koforidua in the Eastern Region.

 She is the eldest of four siblings and is motivated to work harder when she sees other students her age in the limelight doing great things.

Her parents are her role model.They have always been her souce of encouragement. 

Cooking is her favourite hobby. She enjoys reading and writes for leisure.

She aspires to attend Aburi Girls Senior High School.

Vicentia wants to become one of the best dieticians in the world one day.

He likes reading, writing and coding. Kelvin writes to escape boredom. He also loves music and enjoys learning new things. He comes from Amedzofe, also in the Volta region.

Nana Adwoa Adoma Makafui Osei-Mensah is a grade 7 student at Angels’ Ridge School(ARiS), Tema.

She likes to read, listen to pop music, watch Tv, learn random facts, imagine and write. Her favourite subjects at school are English and Science.

Adoma's favourite songs are by Griff, BTS, Dolly Parton, Dunsin Oyekan, Pentatonix, Panic on The Disco, amongst others. She also likes classical music. Waakye is her best food.

She is a funny and optimistic girl who  has a habit of staying cool in the worst of situations.

Adoma's future aspiration is to be a world changer in her own special way.

Michael Nyarko Nyardu is a JHS 1 student at Pentecost Preparatory School, Koforidua.

He took part in "The ACE Annual Children's End of Year Story Writing Competition to test his writing skills and strived to a win!

Michael is motivated to work harder when he sees students his age in the limelight  doing great things that are mostly done by adults.

He wants to become one of the best surgeons in the world in future and save more lives.

Michael likes reading and writing at his leisure. Someday, he wants to write books about the causes, effects and preventions of diseases related to the heart.

I am Naa Yelebgre Deborah. I am 14 years of age. A student of Wa, Dobile Presby Junior High School. I am currently in Junior High School two (2). I am very passionate about reading and writing.

I took part in the competition because, I felt it was an opportunity to exhibit my writing skills, and I have not regretted taking part in the competition. I won second runner up!

I like to read and also do artwork in my leisure time. l want to be a nurse in the future.

Winner of The Frederick Ato Armah Special Prize for Outstanding Imagination

I am Ryan Nii Akwei Anum, a JHS 3 student of North Ridge Lyceum (NRL). I took part in this competition to occupy my free time with something, I love, writing. Even though taking part was a pastime, my desire was to win a prize.

Discovering new things is what makes life special and in my opinion being fixated on particular things makes life bland. I fuel my desire to discover and try new things as much as possible.

Pollution and high number of homeless people in Ghana are two problems I want to help find solutions to.

I hope to be an electrical engineer in the future. My favourite subject is English.. I am a fan of Manchester United FC and Milwaukee Bucks. I love debating!

2020 Winners

Last Year's Winners

12-year-old Abena Adutumwaa Safo, a grade 8 student of the Light Academy School at Adentan bested all the entries to win the gold prize worth 1,000 cedis with “Santa Fufu”.

Joy Abayie Okyere, also 12 years of age is a grade 7 student of Paschen International School in Takoradi. She was the first runner up with her entry, “Hello Hello Santa”, she won the silver prize of 700.00 cedis.

Second runner up, Beatrice Johnson aged 12 is a primary six pupil of St. Anthony Preparatory School, West Ridge, Sekondi, she picked up the prize for bronze, 300.00 cedis and the Frederick Ato Armah Special Prize for Outstanding Imagination with her piece, “Jingle Bells”.

Kelly Smith, 15 years, a student of Accra Grammer School (AGS) won the Ahuntahunu Special Prize for Best Research with his story, “Selfless at Christmas”


“You have shown talent, determination, perseverance, hope and hard work. These are critical ingredients of success. You’ve achieved a lot but don’t rest on your oars because there’s so much ahead of you if you pursue your dreams with constant commitment, Ayekoo!!!”
