The ACE Annual Children's End of Year Story Writing Competition is inspired by the desire for Ghanaian stories by Ghanaian children, so they own their own voices early in Childhood.
The competition invites children from ages 10 to 15 to participate in building a reference library of celebrations in Ghana across cultures and also offer an opportunity for peer education to take place.
The three best stories are awarded in order of gold, silver and bronze. It includes two special prizes, the Frederick Ato Armah Special Prize for Outstanding Imagination and the Ahuntahunu Special Prize for Best Research.

PMHS is pleased to announce The ACE Children's End of Year Story Writing Competition 2022 is launched. Winning prizes are 1000.00ghs, 700.00ghs and 500.00 ghs respectively including books and more!!!
There's no entry fee required.
This year’s theme is that of Hope.
"Tell your story of hope and how it has inspired you or others"
The panel of judges, all experienced professionals from across multi disciplines remain the same.
The winning entries will feature on the Competition website as well as other online news publications. In addition. The story placed first will also appear in print.
Submission of Entries open on 12th December 2022 and close at midnight 31st December 2022.
We look forward to receiving exciting and original entries playing within the rules of engagement.

Unearth and cultivate the writing talent of Ghanaian children to own their voices.
Winning prizes are one HP laptop each donated by the Patron, Prof. Frederick Ato Armah for the first three winners including cash prizes in the following category for first, second and third winners respectively.
Two special prizes, The Frederick Ato Armah special prize for outstanding Imagination and the Ahuntahunu special prize for best research comprise of a hamper and books.
All stories must be original
Stories should be more than 800 words but must not exceed 1000
All work must be in English
Entry should be focused primarily on the proposed theme and should not have been previously published anywhere
The winning entry will be published on graphic online and Junior Graphic.
Copyright remains with the author. Winning entries will also be published on PMHS website.

Frederick Ato Armah is a Professor of Environmental and Sustainability Science and currently the Director of the Directorate of Research Innovation and Consultancy (DRIC) at the University of Cape Coast (UCC). From August 2016 - July 2019, he was an Associate Professor in the Department of Environmental Science at UCC.
Prof Armah founded The Margaret Wulesie Memorial Prize for Excellence in Environmental Science. in 2016
Esi Arhin is a Multimedia Journalist trained on the job. She worked with the Multimedia Group Ltd on the JoyNews channel on MultiTv as a producer and hosted the network's then flagship news/current affairs programmes "Joint Caucus" and "PM Express". Both programme platforms offered opportunity and challenge to hold government, politicians and key actors from all sectors to task. Esi is known for her work at TV Africa as presenter of the popular morning news magazine show "Daybreak". She has profiled women who have excelled in diverse areas of human endeavor in Ghana and other parts of the world on Tv Africa's "Obaa Mbo", the 2009 CIMG award winning programme of the year.

Joyce Asiedu an educator, who has taught for 22 years. Currently working as a Cultural Coordinator at Akuapem South Education Directorate. I love acting and imparting knowledge to the younger youth. Presently I am a graduate student of School of Performing Arts.
Kwadjo Barwuah is an entrepreneurial-spirited, pioneering Information Technology Consultant and a highly motivated as well as enthusiastic individual with a wide range of technical expertise.. Kwadjo has a passion for innovative ways of delivering training to best enhance knowledge. He has over 20 years in the IT industry
Akofa Edjeani is a multiple awards winning actress and Film maker.She is President of Women in Film and Television (WIFT) Gh, She teaches at Farmhouse Acting Academy
Dr. David Oscar Yawson is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management, with over ten years of experience. He has academic qualifications and practical experience in agriculture, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and environmental science.
Asante Kwame Kwakye is a graduate of the University of Cape Coast. He is a Broadcast Journalist with over a decade's experience with GBC Radio Central, Cape Coast., DC Kwakye is an author and Columnist on Ghana Web. and Modernghana.com. His work centres on socio- development.
Baaba Lindsay is an Educator. She taught at Ghana International School for twenty years. She started summer school in Ghana and also founded the theatre programme in the ICGC Children's ministry. She is the Head and founder of Bablin Institute.
Lawrence Sarpong is professional Teacher with over 25years teaching experience. Mr Sarpong is a PhD student at University of Cape Coast and holds BSE, MSE and MPhil in Science Education, all from University of Education.He is currently the Deputy Registrar, operations for National Teaching Council.
Joan Addo is a retired teacher. She was in active service with the Ghana Education Service (GES) with a career spanning well over four decades teaching at various levels in public schools in the Central, Western and Greater Accra regions. She is an avid reader and storyteller.

N Y M Botchway is the Head of the History Department at University of Cape Coast, Ghana. He is a Professor of History who focuses on the Social and Cultural History of African and Diasporic African peoples. Prof Botchway was Associate Professor of History from 2015 to February 2020. He holds a PhD and an MPhil in History.
John Kojo Denanyoh is currently a doctoral student in Cultural Studies at the University of the West Indies (UWI), Cavehill campus. He taught courses in Television Production at the National Film and Television Institute (NAFTI), Accra for over a decade. Before then, he managed a production company that developed audiovisual content for government advocacy programs, corporations, and the national broadcaster. His passion is in documenting for posterity the disappearing cultural traditions of Ghana. His short film “Akarema” which documented an ancient cultural tradition of Dagbon people was nominated as one of top ten films in Africa in the Discovery Channel’s “Don’t Stop Wondering Awards” 2018.
